Fishermen Prepare Their Nets As A Dolphin Approaches, But Not For The Reason You Think
When there are dolphins and fishermen’s nets in the same bay it usually spells disaster for the friendly marine mammals. However, the people of this coastal town in Brazil developed a special relationship with dolphins. They’re not the prey… they help people fish.
Somehow over the years, the dolphins have become the marine version of hunting dogs for the local community. It’s the most amazing co-operation of humans and wild animals I’ve ever seen.
The dolphins surround the fish and herd them directly into the nets and the tactics is so effective the fishermen don’t even cast their nets until they spot their helpers.
