In a nursing home in Oregon visitors and residents can often hear sharp sounds of a typewriter coming from Paul Smith’s room. But Paul’s not a writer. Paul is using his typewriter to create a different kind of art, not literary, but visual.

It’s hard to imagine that an artist behind this amazingly detailed paintings lack majority of his motor skills, but this is just a proof that talent always finds a way. Mr. Smith, who has suffered his whole life from severe cerebral palsy, has discovered that his old typewriter gives him just the perfect amount of control to use its keys as paintbrush. You have to see it to believe it.
