Smart Giant Tortoise Sees Overturned Friend. Its Next Move Has Bystanders Cheering

Tortoises have a big advantage over their predators in that big shell of theirs. They’re like little tanks, but apart from their weight they do come with another big flaw – if they tip over, it’s almost impossible for them to get back on their feet.

In nature, however, that’s not really the big cause of death for them because of this.

One of the resident tortoises of Taiwan Zoo found itself upside down after misjudging its step, but it wasn’t stranded for too long and it had nothing to do with humans intervening. This is just how it would have happened in the wild.
